The member representing Owerri North State Constituency in the Imo House of Assembly, Hon Philip Ejiogu, has admonished his constituents and the entire Imolites to strictly and rigorously adhere to the order and restrictions placed by the government and other Healthcare experts as a preventive measure to contain and combat the widespread pandemic Coronavirus.
Hon. Philip Ejiogu further stated that it is important citizens protect themselves and others from Covid-19.
He pointed out that the virus is spreading sporadically, sighted that all schools, events and other social gatherings are currently prohibited by the federal and state government as a proactive measure to checkmate the virus. Owerri North must respect the ban and deploy every other approach to be safe and live for the better days in the nearest future.
Take care of your health and protect others by doing the following prevention measures as directed by WHO:
Wash your hands frequently
Thoroughly clean your hands with an alcohol-based hand rub or wash them with soap and water. Washing your hands with soap and water or using alcohol-based hand rub kills viruses that may be on your hands.
Maintain social distancing
Maintain at least 1 meter (3 feet) distance between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing.
Practice respiratory hygiene
Follow good respiratory hygiene by covering your mouth and nose with your bent elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze.
Droplets spread the virus. By following good respiratory hygiene you protect the people around you from viruses such as cold, flu and COVID-19.
If you have fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical care early
Stay at Home
Stay home if you feel unwell. If you have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical attention and call in advance.
Calling in advance will allow the Imo State Response Team to quickly respond, quarantine and carryout every necessary medical check. This will also protect you and help prevent the spread of viruses and other infections.
The House Committee Chairman on Education, Hon. Philip Ejiogu prays that in no distant time the State and Nigeria will sure surmount and defeat the Covid-19 pandemic virus.
